Effective Date: 01/05/2025
1. General
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern all roofing, repair, and building services provided by Platinum Pro Roofing ("we", "us", "our") to the customer ("you", "your"). By commissioning any work or accepting a quotation from us, you confirm your agreement to these Terms in full. These Terms are designed to ensure clarity and fairness in all dealings between us and our clients and may be updated periodically without prior notice.
2. Quotations
-
All quotations provided by Platinum Pro Roofing are free of charge and valid for 30 calendar days from the date of issue unless stated otherwise in writing.
-
Scope: Quotations detail the estimated costs of labour, materials, and any additional services based on an initial inspection. Any deviation in scope, such as client-requested changes or the discovery of unforeseen issues during work, may result in a revised quote.
-
Accuracy: While we strive for accurate assessments, all quotations are estimates and subject to change if additional work becomes necessary once the project has begun.
-
Acceptance: Work will only commence upon written or verbal acceptance of the quotation and confirmation of any required deposit.
3. Surveys & Property Inspections
-
We offer a complimentary, no-obligation property and roof survey as part of our service.
-
Initial Survey: A qualified member of our team will conduct a thorough inspection of your roof and surrounding structures to identify visible issues and potential risks.
-
Report & Plan: Following the survey, you will receive a detailed report outlining our findings, a proposed scope of work, and a transparent, itemised quote. We will also provide a work plan detailing timelines, safety considerations, and materials to be used.
-
Limitations: Please note that inspections are visual and non-invasive unless otherwise agreed. We cannot be held liable for concealed damage not visible during the initial survey.
4. Guarantees & Warranties
We stand behind the quality of our work and materials with robust warranties:
-
New Roof Installations: Covered by a 20-year workmanship warranty, which ensures the installation is free from defects due to poor workmanship.
-
Flat Roof Replacements: Also included under the 20-year workmanship warranty, unless otherwise specified in writing.
-
Roof Repairs: Backed by a 5-year workmanship warranty, covering the repaired area only.
-
Materials: All materials used are sourced from trusted suppliers and come with a manufacturer's guarantee, typically lasting 10 years, subject to their own terms and conditions.
-
Exclusions: Warranties do not cover damage caused by natural disasters, extreme weather, misuse, neglect, or unauthorised alterations after our work is completed.
5. Certifications & Insurance
Platinum Pro Roofing is fully certified and insured for all services we provide.
-
Certifications: All staff are trained and qualified in roofing and building standards, and we comply with all UK building regulations and health and safety laws.
-
Insurance: We carry full public liability insurance and employer’s liability insurance, providing peace of mind in the unlikely event of an accident or damage during the project.
6. Payments & Deposits
We operate a transparent and fair payment policy:
-
Deposit: Depending on the size and nature of the job, a deposit may be required prior to commencement. The amount will be clearly outlined in your quotation.
-
Payment Terms: The remaining balance is due upon completion of work, unless alternative arrangements have been agreed in writing.
-
Methods: We accept payment by bank transfer, debit/credit card, or cheque. Payment details will be provided on your invoice.
-
Late Payments: We reserve the right to charge interest on overdue balances at a rate of 2% per month or part thereof until payment is made in full.
7. Cancellations & Rescheduling
We understand that schedules can change and aim to be as flexible as possible.
-
Customer Cancellations: If you need to cancel or reschedule, we require at least 48 hours' notice in writing. Failure to provide adequate notice may result in a cancellation fee to cover administrative and preparatory costs.
-
Our Right to Cancel: We reserve the right to cancel or delay work due to unforeseen circumstances such as adverse weather, illness, or material shortages. In such cases, we will notify you immediately and reschedule at the earliest convenience.
8. Delays & Force Majeure
While we aim to complete all projects on schedule, delays can sometimes occur.
-
Unforeseen Delays: We are not liable for delays caused by factors beyond our control, including but not limited to weather conditions, supply chain disruptions, and access issues.
-
Communication: Any expected delays will be communicated promptly, and we will make all reasonable efforts to minimise disruption.
9. Access & Site Requirements
For safety and efficiency, we require the following during the project:
-
Site Access: You must provide safe and reasonable access to the site for our team, equipment, and materials for the duration of the project.
-
Utilities: Access to electricity and water may be necessary to carry out the work efficiently.
-
Safety: Please keep pets, children, and unauthorised persons away from the work area to ensure safety.
10. Liability & Damage
We take great care in our work but acknowledge the importance of addressing any accidental issues.
-
Accidental Damage: If damage occurs due to our negligence, we will take full responsibility and arrange necessary repairs at no cost to you.
-
Existing Damage: We are not liable for pre-existing structural issues or damage that is uncovered during the project unless caused by our actions.
-
Third-Party Damage: We are not responsible for damage caused by external factors or third-party contractors unless explicitly stated.
11. Complaints & Disputes
We are committed to customer satisfaction and take complaints seriously.
-
How to Complain: If you are unhappy with any aspect of our work, please contact us in writing within 7 days of completion. We will investigate the issue and aim to resolve it within 14 days.
-
Resolution: If a mutual resolution cannot be reached, we may refer the matter to an independent third-party mediator for fair resolution, in line with UK consumer rights law.
12. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from our services or these terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
